Formed in University of the Philippines after meeting through their music organization, ANEKA was named after its initial founder Aneka Abarrientos. As a solo artist, Aneka tapped guitarists Diego Sunga and Isaac Mongcal, pianist Aly Magno, and drummer Mer Escare to join her during a gig in Los Baños, Laguna. Soon after, Aneka asked Frau Rojas to be the bassist of the band.Since then, they have played in several locations around Laguna and Metro Manila including the UP February Fair.
